"Stop the Oxford Animal Lab!"

I feel like I'm being pulled in a million directions at once.

"if you're still ill when it comes to exam time, taking a year out is always an option."

I'm being stretched out. Spread out. There's lots of me but not enough.

"other people's feelings simply aren't important to you"

Demands are being made of me that I can't meet. Choices I can't make. The part of me that curls in corners and whimpers has never felt so tempted to rise.

"I actually don't know anyone else who does have exactly the same attitude as you"

I just want to live my life. Am I free to do that? Please let me live.

"if this is glandular fever then i'm afraid you'll be functioning at 50-70% for quite some time"

This can not go on.

even you can't do the impossible, darling. but thanks for the offer. you are one of the shiny people who pushes me back together again instead of pulling me apart, so just your being there helps.

...so, anything *I* can do, then?

*stops midpost to execute a series of 7 backwards somersaults on the ceiling*

Ahem.

But, seriously, feel better and if there is anything that can be done, let me (or the plurality of people who seem to be offering) know.

Stop. Breath.

In. Out. In.

Start again.

Repeat.

Wanna talk?

What you doing tomorrow? Wanna come and sit on my floor for a bit? Or are you staying in bed?

Whimpering in corners is a perfectly acceptable short term solution. *hugs*

would love to come and sit on your floor tomorrow. either post-blood-test, pre afternoon-in-the-library (c.11.30) or post-blood-test-and-a-few-hours-in-the-library (say, c.3)?

Feeling stressed and run down is perfectly understandable - you're just been hit by an illness-shaped truck, you're halfway through a term, you're taking a demanding subject at a demanding university, you're entirely within your rights to cancel something, flop down and spend an evening drinking hot chocolate.

For what it's worth, *hugs*.

ask Lisa Heaney at worcester for advice. she went through very similar and worked for me at zoo. she owes me a favour and, if it will help you, you can collect it for me.

glandular fever is evil :(

What are you doing over Easter? Would your tutors let you drop out for the rest of term and make it up over Easter?

"if you're still ill when it comes to exam time, taking a year out is always an option."

Have you asked tutor-type-people if you could take part ones at the end of trinity instead of the beginning? I think someone told me it could be done and you've definitely got good reason and it might take some of the immediate pressure off, without having to worry about finding houses/funding etc for a whole extra year. Maybe?

Hope you're still mending and, like everyone else, let me know if there's anything I can do, work-related or otherwise. And let me know when you're free/strong for catch-up-coffee - how's next tues afternoon? or wed afternoon?

*hugs*
