Wednesday, 8pm, Wadham JCR - Stonewall, a gay and lesbian rights campaign and lobbying group, presenting a paper on 'Media Representations of Homosexuality'.

Thursday, 8pm, Holywell Music Room - Peter Tatchell, gay and human rights campaigner for over fourty years, has been both an admired and controversial figure, most notoriously as one of the founding members of 'Outrage!', a direct action group working for gay rights and liberation.

In conjunction with Oxford University Amnesty International, speaking on 'The Global Battle For Queer Freedom'.

Wadham Queer Week! You KNOW you want to come to these, because a) they'll be interesting b) they'll be inspiring and c) without decent attendance Wadham SU will not do it again.

Queer Bop is the least Queer thing I've ever seen bear the name; I don't want it to be the only "queer" thing my college does.

there are three things in life more important to me than any others.

they are me, ashley, and my laptop.

they are all broken.

i can't fix any of them.

i'm going to call in some favours, i hope no-one minds:

- [livejournal.com profile] lizziwig, may i please borrow your DVD of House? (if [livejournal.com profile] steerpikelet's currently watcing it, can I please at least have it for Friday night / Saturday?)

- anyone with a laptop they no longer use, now is the time to come out of the woodwork and say "here, have this one!". PC World point blank refuse to touch mine, said "uh.. you might want to try a laptop specialist?" but couldn't tell me where to find one other than "on the Cowley Road". I know what's wrong with it - I've lost the pin from where the power cable plugs in to the machine. Apparently this is a Big Fucking Deal. I'm going to try the place on Magdalen Rd tomorrow, and perhaps MCM computers on my way back. (I think that's the name the PC World guy mentioned, but I've not heard anything good about them.) Ahaha! Turns out it's still under warranty, but that the warranty card says it doesn't cover "damage to breakable parts". As anything that is broken is, by it's very nature, necessarily breakable, does this really mean that my laptop warranty is meaningless?

- anyone with any audiobooks in Oxford, in either CD or tape form, may I borrow them? ([livejournal.com profile] chrisvenus, if you're finished with your American Gods CDs, I might really like to borrow them around now)

- when I cease to be able to cope with any of this, and inevitably implode, please make sure they don't have a religious ceremony.
