Pope protest
Sep. 17th, 2010 07:35 pmSo, who's on the Pope protest tomorrow in London?
Anyone got any ideas for a placard-concise message that conveys "I have no interest in contravening anyone's religious freedom or freedom to travel, and the anti-catholic people in this crowd really squick me, but I don't think that a government-funded state visit is appropriate for someone with this man's human rights record. And, yes, I am aware that the very act of protesting increases the cost of the visit." ?

I am finding the whole thing surprisingly difficult (says she, five hours away from going off to big a Catholic wedding with her Weasley-style family) and I'm quite glad I'm in another country for the duration.

Date: 2010-09-18 03:10 am (UTC)I would endorse this. Although it's interesting that Ratzy's theology is very clear that being queer isn't a sin... just actually having queer sex is, which is far more nuanced than - say - some of those fundamentalist Protestants who will also be in the demo.
