chiasmata has a xylophone! This is approximately the coolest percussion-related thing to happen in my life since I sold my drum kit aged 16 and used the money to buy broadband.

Today I started work on the first of two Library School essays due for 06-Feb. It's quite exciting, and my to-do list includes things like "research history of queer activism" and "read article about Zapatistas and the internet". I do enjoy it, so much, when I get into the "flow" of reading and thinking. But it's not an easy state to get into, especially when the days are so short and my body is demanding 10-12 hours sleep a night..

Don't forget to come and tell me how wonderful I am tomorrow - 6pm at the Mitre, dancing to DJ deathbyshinies at the Cellar at 8.30pm.

It's a Borderville (http://www.myspace.com/borderville) song lyric, from their glory days when they were a glam-prog outfit. (It's actually a reference back to an even older one of their tracks, where an instrumental break was symbolic of the sex occurring between the two protagonists of the song, but that fact belongs in my Borderville-geekery and perhaps not here in the public domain.) You can hear the song with the lyric on their mysapce - "She is not a Guitar" I love them so very much, still, but do secretly yearn for the 7-minute prog-keyboarding epics.

When do you get lunch? Mine is generally 12-1 or 1-2.
