Oh hai, Dorian Gray...

Pretty pretty, Pretty-Pretty.

Another brunette. Did I create the blond in my own head, based on pictures of Lord Alfred Douglas?

I do hope that this film keeps the glorious darkness of the novel. It's being directed by the same chap who did the comedies, and that awful/wonderful St Trinian's remake. I imagine that the Huysmans-chapter will be turned into a brief decadent montage, if they keep it at all; I wonder how I'll feel about that?

FILM OF DORIAN GRAY AND WAS NOT INFORMED??!!!

My Sainted aunt I am going to camp outside the cinema weeks in advance...

Unless it's some puritanical/evangelist director there ain't no way in hell they can skirt over T3H G4Y [and what puritanical/evangelist director would take on Dorian Gray anyhow?!]

In-other-words-with-less-exclamation-marks: Thank you dearly for drawing this to my attention xxx

Hooray for Colin Firth being in films that don't involve Abba!

I now realise this is exactly what I've been doing for the last ten years or so XD.

I think this is going to be one of those films that I'll either love or take great delight in criticising, so I'm going to have fun whatever. Though personally I'm still holding out for a TV adaptation of Will Self's Dorian...

I'm almost sure my copy of Dorian Gray has him illustrated as a blond. However, I think my mental picture was strongly informed by Jude Law as Bosie. Also, Colin Firth, OMG.

The memory may cheat, but I believe he was blond in B7: Rescue.

No, you are quite right. I don't think it counts as a true representation of Wilde's Dorian, but it's interesting to note that other people have felt blondness appropriate nonetheless.

The book definitely describes him as golden haired.
