It's the early hours of Sunday morning. I've had a fabulous, non-stop time, these last few days; seminars on "Some Like it Hot as Heterosexual Dystopia" and "A Conversation with Jasper Fforde" - a WhoFest entirely based around "serials with two Brigadiers" (Battlefield, Mawdryn Undead, Inferno) - jacinthsong finishing her finals - showing lubaya Velvet Goldmine..

I'm completely exhausted and can hear the dawn chorus outside.

But I've just watched the pre-credits sequence of tonight's Doctor Who.

And I know that there is no fucking way I'll be going to bed for another 40 minutes....

and I just watched it and my heart broke a thousand times. The repetition! The terror! The child psychiatrist feeding the fucking psychosis. Ghosting - "he talked about his shoelaces". The dark! Donna Noble has been saved! This is what New Who should be, so much better than anything else this season. And, oh Moffatt, let this be what it will be!

Great episode, but the ghosting didn't really work for me. If everyone knew about this side-effect of the technology, I'm pretty sure no-one would have allowed the technology to get into use. Oh, and didn't Donna kill Miss Evangelista? I sense a pattern...

No---I think she would have taken the chance to be useful and point out the door, got ignored and then deaded all on her own without Donna, because she still very much wanted to be regarded as useful.

I felt so sorry for Miss Evangelista, because people judged her on her appearance. It was just as bad as people expecting me to be weedy because I wear glasses, or to solve their cross word puzzles on the train. Poor thing.
