Fuck this week, really, right in the ear. Two inexplicable rejections (have they replied to my emails asking for explanations? have they buggery). My protecting my own comfort and personal space being cast as vendetta and bannination. This morning, turning up to the wrong workplace and consequently being an hour late for a trip which was organised especially for me. Not getting to bed before midnight any night this week probably hasn't helped with any of this, I'll concede.

There have been some good aspects: deepbluemermaid, ayaron, calliope85, and deathbyshinies have all been happy in my general vicinity, been most excellently squeeful/pretty/interesting and stopped me freefalling too badly. The light entertainers continue to make my play much funnier than it has any right to be. [shameless plug: The Reduced Tolkien, Wadham Gardens, 6pm, Tues-Thurs 8th Week.] But generally, it's been pretty crap.

I'm about to leave work early and go and see "Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf". This is me, closing the book that is this horrible week. Tomorrow I'm watching all three Lord of the Rings extended editions back to back in a middle-earth orgy fuelled by Bailey's coffee and junk food. And so, by Sunday, I reckon I might be back on an even keel again.

It would be nice to get a chance to meet you properly before you disappear. Term-time rapidly eats my free time, despite no longer being a student.. I'm already busy every evening except Monday and Friday next week - is either of them good for you?

I meant to say that those rejections, from what I could gather, were so typical of Oxford's way of doing things. I've had a good few of the 'by seeming to explain everything, we explain nothing' and 'we flatter only to insult' genres in my time, and they all came from this university.
