First off, congratulations to all of you finishing today! Sorry that I won't be there in person to pass on the love, but I'm pretty convinced that you'll be having a great time with or without me, so get to it!

Spent a delightful weekend in Winchester for the Mayfest. Discovered, amongst other things, that I have a favourite morris dancing group, that I'll forgive New Who anything if it keeps on throwing references at me straight out of my childhood, and that I'm going to call my first grrlesque show "Lashings of Ginger Beer". Spent an decadent afternoon sitting in a period pub on the cathedral green, eating yummy poncy food and listening to gypsy jazz (think Jeeves & Wooster theme tune). I just wish I'd brought a cocktail dress! (Or a tux.. I could have done with being a mysteriously cross-dressed woman in the corner of a smoky 20s bar.) Cathedral evensong, hippy market stalls, and a complete pace-of-life shift. It's a beautiful, beautiful town, and I think that when I get sick of this librarianing lark I'll go live there and morris-dance and slowly pickle myself into Nanny-Ogg-dom.
