Yes, that's what I was thinking.. but then, didn't Richard E Grant play the doctor in CoFD and in various radio adaptations? Or am I just getting confused because of Withnail & I?

Yes he did, and in at least one of the Flash ones on the beeb website (Scream of the Shalka, I think). Rowan Atkinson was also the Doctor in CoFD. Personally (and it's probably an unpopular choice) I think Peter Serafinowicz could do a good Paul McGann-esque Doctor.
