On Friday I went to see Avenue Q for my sister's 18th. Excellent choice!

I've known and loved the songs for years, ever since stronglight burned me the soundtrack; but there are elements of the plot that were completely new to me.

And now, still, I am periodically grinning like a kids' TV presenter on remembering the line "Rod, meet Ricky... I think I know your type". Because that is the sweetest thing in the world ever OMFG.

Also, double-bill of new House this week, as I'm catching up on last week's which I missed due to, y'know, being in an OULES show and everything.

And I have an incredibly hot girlfriend, who I took to Camden to get a tongue piercing and a corset for her birthday; and I live in the left-wing utopia that is the pridehouse; and I love my job.

I'm exhausted as all fuck, sure, but I'm happy.

It's the house I live in with the darling sugar_and_space, gin_gerkitten, and mundi_gaudium. It's in a town - Oxford - which I have found to be the most liberal, easy-going, intelligent and kind place in the UK; it's in a street where environmentalists have painted a mural about the evils of global capitalism all over the side of their house.

We are all queer cat lovers - hence the name "Pridehouse" - and the whole set-up just seems to work, somehow, with minimal fuss and quite a lot of left-wing political solidarity. Tonight we're playing scrabble, eating baileys flavoured chocolate, and are about to watch the latest episode of House. It's kind of blissful.
