Hullo human race, a message for you:

*has cramps*

*has had no central heating for a week and is freezing*

*kicks landlord*

[livejournal.com profile] jacinthsong finally showed me Shortbus, which was just as good as I would have expected from the creator of Hedwig (ie phenomenal), although admittedly a little more triggering than I was prepared for. Also didn't have nearly enough Severin.

Right, I'm off to curl up round my woefully inadequate electric heater and shiver...

ITA on everything you said about Shortbus. I cried a little afterwards. And Severin . . . yesssssss. I also wished for much more.

Lack of central heating + poorly insulated house = badness. Lots of layers and hot water bottles Are Your Friends. Actually, I find the most important thing is to insulate the extremities - many socks, and there's nothing wrong with wearing gloves indoors.

Or spend all your time round at friends' houses :-)

Funny, I discovered xkcd this weekend too - it is indeed great and deserves to win Many Internets.

Hmph. Had hoped to join the Shortbus-watching, but I've been unpleasantly ill all week. Even my supervisor's been avoid my foul pestilence. (Well, nasty cold. But it is irritating.)

How do you do that linky-hovering-screencap thing?

From: [identity profile] sebastienne.livejournal.com
i neither do it nor want it - lj has started doing it all over the place and it's irritating the s*** out of me right now.

Perhaps you mean an ALT tag?

Oh no, I know about those, I meant the snap.com preview that comes up when you hover over the links in E's post...or at least it does in my browser!

Oh, well in that case, I have absolutely no idea, never seen that.

I'm guessing it might be some new piece of Javascript from LJ, but blocked for me by the Noscript extension.

I think I misunderstood, because xkcd was mentioned. Anyway, it was a TITLE tag I was thinking of, which xkcd makes significant use of (hover your mouse over the comic image). Also, see my other comment.

ah, i'm doing the whole "reply to lj comments in your email so as not to be seen on lj at work" thing, so i didn't see your other comment until it was too late.

still, at least i'm GETTING lj comments in my email now, since giving up on hotmail & getting them sent to my gmail, instead..

Hm, triggering? For depression/suicide?

Severin was made of pure awesome.

yes, exactly. specifically, the depression/suicide of somebody that you think loves you enough not to, that it turns out they've been planning for ages, even through the times you thought were good.

Ah, right. Thanks for the clarification, I've only really heard that phrase used in the context of sexual assault before and I couldn't see how that would really apply.

Ah yes, I can see how confusion would arise - in the bits of the web I frequent, however, you'd be more likely to find a cut saying "cut for E.D. triggers", "cut for sexual violence triggers", "cut for suicide triggers", etc.

Ah well, we all know what parts of the web I like to frequent :)

Hope it wasn't too triggery an experience. It's such a tenderhearted film.
