I <3 googlemail.

My room is very cold, and my throat hurts. Funnily enough, as a glandular fever survivor, I'm not hugely comfortable with my glands being up the day before my finals begin.

I am going to mainline tea, and read the lecture slides from my fave lecture course. That should make things a bit better.

Send emails to my .ox address, bitches, for I want to marvel at the wonders of googlemail! Long conversations for preference, so that I may revel in the way it links a whole re:re:re: sequence together in one place!

Oh, and everyone in the whole world is falling apart right now. I blame the rain. You'd better watch it, deity-of-your-choice, keep shitting on my friends like this and I will be coming up there and having Words.

Most amusing thing to do in Googlemail: Open up an e-mail from someone with whom you intend to have a long conversation in two separate windows. Minimize one. Whenever the person sends you e-mail, a tiny "update conversation?" pop-up will appear in the bottom of the other window (well, both windows, but one's minimized, so ignore it). Hit update. Continue hitting update in only that one window as you have a good long conversation. Try to hit the maximum number of e-mails allowed per conversation (100 if your friend sends the 101st e-mail or 101 if you send the 101st e-mail). When you're done, close that first window.

Unminimize the second window. It should contain just the first message that's the start of the conversation as well as a pop-up at the bottom of the window saying something like "x messages are waiting." Hit update. Sit back and watch Gmail scroll in the 99-odd messages that need to be added to the conversation.

Well. That's how I have fun, at least.

...Googlemail can read .ox addresses? o.O

I was not aware of this. I think I might get a Gmail account.

It also has a dinky chat function that can email you messages that you miss! I don't know you .ox address but you can gmail me at my username@gmail.com if you want to gush about Dr Who and how Miranda Richardson should be the next regeneration.

I woke up with a hideously painful throat this morning, and various friends have complained of one over the last week or so - so I'm sure it's just something that's going round, rather than a glandular fever relapse (which aren't particularly common anyway, IIRC). Tea makes everything better, anyway :) Apart from oropharyngeal cancer, which it might actually be a risk factor for.

Best of luck for tomorrow. *hugs*

I wore a vest and kept my jacket on yesterday. It's usually pretty reasonable in there temperature-wise, but worth having an easily-shed extra layer.

xx

Ahh, I love Gmail so very much. Although my friends have an annoying habit of changing the subject line of messages and stopping it updating properly. That wasn't very lucid, but I thought I'd share the lovin'.

Tis truely joyous when Social gets hots and thery are some complaints along the lines of 'Woh - too many messages' at which you laugh heartily and note that you have but a single thread!

Only annoying thing is where the same message arrives for me on Social and Twister and they aren't consolidated, but meh - gmail rocks!
