* You can buy paracetamol in Tesco. It's a potent liver poison that can kill you quite easily.

* After a five minute appointment with a locum GP, whom you may never have seen before, you can be prescribed mind-altering drugs, habit forming drugs, controlled substances and things that are all three.

* Apparently it is inappropriate for one of the world's most experienced practitioners in the relevant area, on the basis of a one hour consultation, to prescribe what are essentially birth control pills, more or less harmless, which are available over the counter in many jurisdictions to people presenting with a lifelong history of the condition that they will alleviate. Indeed, such an action may very possibly result in extreme sanction from the General Medical Council.

Oh, auntysarah. I remember reading her whole account of her transition once after stumbling on her journal through friendsfriends.

A fair few of us in the public gallery were moved to the edge of tears by that. Ms Reed was clearly having a lot of trouble giving her evidence - the emotion in her voice was obvious, and she had to compose herself a couple of times. I think she was incredibly brave to go and do what she did.
