Having decided not to mention the gorgeous house we found to live in next year, in case of jinxing it, it turned out to be jinxed anyway. As we arrived to sign contracts, there were five people already in the office. Signing contracts. On that house.

Everyone except lizziwig and half_of_monty sucks. Not really - you just don't know what you're missing by not coming to the Cellar tonight. I'm off to cover myself in glitter - this band brings out my 14-yr-old velvet goldmine aesthete. It brings out the girl who'll dress up fabulously for herself alone and then just sit in the corner of a club reading China Mieville. Come and join me if you like; but more importantly, be yourself, and be happy.

The urge to quote huge swathes of Velvet Goldmine at you is growing exponentially as I write this post, so I shall go and cover myself in glitter now.

And see yourself, on-stage, inside-out. A tangle of garlands in your hair.

oh, it's a most fabulous compliment, especially to my 14-yr-old self who's out tonight, the one who doesn't believe in gender.

i can't decide whether to tell you or not.. if you knew me in RL there'd be no doubt, so it's rare that I get to appear confusingly androgynous. I think I'll hold on to this mystery for a little longer just yet.

Yes when I was a teenager I was mighty pissed with the whole gender thing and I'm a bit androgynous too.

no - & i'm a third year undergrad who was a recluse for her first year, so i don't really know many Ox people who aren't still here now.

I was in Bead Games on the Cowley Road. They had a purple monkey. And a red one. And even though I must have known that purple monkey came from a shop somewhere, it made me very, very, sad, and I'm trying to forget that he ever seemed mass produced.

I would do literally anything if you could get me one of those Monkeys. Purple Monkey's body is getting a bit worn and I am concerned that he might need a new one if he's to remainin the human world. The design for the body Monkey has now is no longer produced. He seems to be unique in all the world now.
