1. This morning I chose a chapter of Wintersmith over a shower. So if you see me later and I smell, tell me to put the Pratchett down & get with the cleanliness?

2. My panic attacks at New Year left me with an odd, kink-related phobia, that I'm only now getting over - so much so that seeing the word "permission" in a newspaper article, far from having pleasent D/s connotations, freaked me the fuck out. It's almost completely gone now.

3. Now that Nanny Ogg's all gone, I'm giving up sugary things for the rest of term. Refined flours and things too, as far as possible. Extreme glucose highs & lows aren't fun.

4. I still haven't finished unpacking - I have crates full of books & CDs in the middle of my room.

5. My girlfriend is a girl. I didn't realise there were people who'd missed this memo, but there we go. "Your girlfriend has a cock" is therefore not a fair way to prove my bisexuality. I, like her, would much rather it wasn't there.

6. I eat fresh filled pasta raw. I had some for breakfast. I'm going to have to stop buying the stuff, because I always plan to cook it but I never do.

7. I'm still waiting to be let into the secrets of social & professional interaction that I assumed all adults got taught at their coming-of-age.

8. I give in. It's not just that I like the pretty clothes. I really am a goth.

9. Despite being a founding member of OU3FS, I've barely read a word of fanfiction since coming up to Oxford. Now all I do is watch fannish things and squee.

10. I'm late for a lecture. ttfn!

5 - I could have understood it if they'd known Ashley a while ago - I wasn't sure for a while if she was a transgirl or femmy boy, but I don't think there can be much doubt. Someone being that insensitive has no place trying to 'prove' your bisexuality either (incidentally, who does? hmmm...)

it wasn't said in a particularly insensitive spirit - and people who knew ashley when she first moved to oxford did know her as androgyne - but i guess i thought it was worth affirming here, because i know her so completely as female i'd failed to realise that others might see her differently.

is the house-hunt proceeding at all? if you've got submerged by term, which i'd understand, may i take over and go and prod estate agents on Friday? Anna's back in the country on Saturday and I reckon we'll wanna be signing contracts as soon as we all agree on a housemate situation and a suitable place, what with it being Student House Season & all.

i'm intellectually aware of ashley presenting as androgyne when first in ox, but not emotionally aware of it, in my ashley-girl concept of her - thus i was a lot more shocked by "your girlfriend has a cock" than i really had a right to be. i was trying to use this meme to put others who hadn't realised on the right track - to make that public announcement, if you like - i'm sorry if i've stirred up drama.

Oh, I completely understand that! That's why I say I was more shocked than I had a right to be - no-one ever told you otherwise, told anyone otherwise, and to expect you all to have the same knowledge I do of my girlfriend is rather foolish, so the mistake is perfectly comprehensible. As you say, just trying to make sure people know from now on!

Not sure if I count as a founding member, only making it to the second meeting, but likewise. And when I get the urge to write, it's usually original stuff rather than fanfiction type works.

i've been on a slice-a-day since sunday, but now the rest has gone to the worthy cause of "giving ashley something to binge on that isn't cigarettes" because i was worried that it would go stale otherwise. i had my last slice (and my last sugar hit all term, in theory) for lunch today, including the last of her marshmallow corset.

why would you think it was inedible? everyone in the pub seemed to love it, and i know that i did! you, and your cake-making skills, are fabulous.

Kate made me a Nanny Ogg cake for my birthday, with a barbie-doll Nanny Ogg in the middle and the cake as her petticoats. Barbie dolls aren't really shaped like Nanny Ogg; and as such, this one was dressed with a corset made of marshmallows, and decorated with butter icing laces and so on. Delicious in so many senses!
