As if a Red Dwarf actor turning up on Doctor Who (7th Doc, Battlefield) wasn't enough to cement my growing love of the series, I just watched an episode (7th Doc, Dragonfire) with a woman from Rocky Horror in it! Patricia Quinn! In Doctor Who! I'm also slowly falling in love with Ace. Is this very wrong?

Who, me? Lock myself away in my room with downloads of old sci-fi and hide from Christmas? Not true, actually. So far I've been pretty good at the whole Daughter thing. Although I feel this may change when we entertain 14 over the next few days..

Missed friends from home, it seems. Saw photos of mass gathering. Assume miscommunication, rather than malice.

Ace best ever. She SMASHES A DALEK UP WITH A BASEBALL BAT. And is, IIRC, only female companion (think even Liz Shaw had a few moments) with a scream count of zero.

i think it might be that - in dragonfire, where she companion-swaps with mel, i found mel girly and screaming and rather irritating... ace is just throwing nitro at things, no screaming.

Seconded. She had no redeeming features whatsoever and not only did she scream a lot but had the most annoying scream ever. And the weirdest most paradoxical introduction to the series of any companion, I'm sure. :)

Ace is the GREATEST COMPANION EVER. Apparently there was going to be a plot where the Doctor takes her to Gallifrey and tries to get her trained to be a time lord. While I love and adore Romana, Ace wuz the best.
