Oscar Wilde died of meningitis, 106 years ago today in a Parisian hotel room. The wallpaper didn't go, so he had to.
My "little" sister turns 17 today. She is getting driving lessons from my parents. I am afraid.

And now, even more significance.
A year ago today, I'd just started my Christmas job, selling historical tat in Past Times. To celebrate a succesful first day as a retail monkey, I decided to go for a bit of an aimless wander around town. As I looked, forlornly, at all the rubbish in the high street shops, I noticed something that was much more me than anything that can be bought in Top Shop. It was as androgynous as fuck, even hotter than that, and had bright pink hair. I'd met her, once, about a month beforehand - but she was only visiting Oxford, a friend-of-a-friend, why's she here now? I had to go and find out. And there was asushi_radical, newly moved to Oxford, looking for a little orientation in this shiny little town. After a few hours in the pub, I had a crush the size of House's ego, and I haven't looked back since. Today is the anniversary of the chance meeting, without which, this year would not have been the best of my life.
