so this morning i had the press preview for The Importance of Being Earnest. Lady Bracknell wears boots and corset too, but in about as different a way from Nanny Ogg as it is possible to do. Lady Bracknell wears heels (fiendish lace-up pointy ankle boots) but needs to glide; Nanny Ogg wears DMs and has to be as graceless as possible. Lady Bracknell's corset is underwear, just to give her a fiendish waist inside her dress. Nanny Ogg's corset is very much outerwear - functional, leather, and not quite so fiendish with the waist reduction.
Having been unable to sleep until about half 1, I'm surprisingly wakeful. I'm still dosing myself with orange juice and lucozade, though. I'll make it through these two performances and come out SMILING.
