Little bits of wax all over the carpet and the bed. A pile of boys on the kitchen floor. This has all the hallmarks of The Morning After a party in the PHoL.

I didn't go to see the Rocky Horror Show when it came to an Oxford stage. Last night, I chose debauchery and sleep over watching the film. I have been obsessed - obsessed! - with Rocky Horror ever since I first saw it - jesusfuck - eight years ago, but I'm beginning to worry that I've grown out of it. That's not me trying to belittle Rocky Horror fans, or even to say "Don't dream it, be it? I'm being it, baby!" - it's actually terrifying, as a concept, like growing out of Oscar Wilde, something I swore would never ever happen because it was an integral part of The Adult Me.

Perhaps not, then.

don't worry you proberbly just need a bit of a break from it, the same thing happended with me over Psmith (PG Wodehouse character, I was obsessed, it wasn't healthy). I think we need a new musical to learn.

oh, i know i enjoy it... but i'm not obsessed any more. i don't ask people within in minutes of knowing them "have you ever seen the rocky horror show" ?

re: your icon - there need to be more girls with wings in the real world. specifically feathery wings, not glittery fluffy hen-night mostrosities. make it so!

I think these things just happen, and it can be distressing when you realise they don't have such an impact on your life anymore. I grew out of Terry Pratchett a few years ago, and have been in mourning for my enjoyment of his books ever since. A shame, but it happens.

Yes, I grew out of Isaac Asimov and John Wyndham, with both of whom I had secretly had a secretive autoerotic love affair in secret, when I was fifteen. Which was fine, because by the time I was sixteen, I had realised that while they have some good ideas, neither of them is actually any good at writing.

And I quote:

"...cornucopia of plenty..."
(Isaac Asimov, (one of the Foundation series, later on I think, I forget which...))
