According to the film distributors' association, RENT is released in the UK on April 7th.

I'm at home at this time. I can't really offer crash space like I normally would because the spare room is full of bits of bathroom, but for those of you who want to see this who are coming from far away there is floor space.

When I find out which cinemas will be showing it, I will be organising a trip to see it in London on the 7th. Unless, I suppose, it is going to be shown in Oxford, in which case I might have the willpower to wait until I get back and see it on the 12th. Are you around then?

Yeah - I'm going to be in Edinburgh/Rosslin 'til the 3rd, then am coming back here to hang around the Duke Humfrey's poking at manuscripts all day long.

London trip! Excitement! Although I can't imagine why it wouldn't be shown in Oxford... *sigh*, the ways of British cinemas are strange and elusive to me.

The websites I've been looking at have been suggesting that it'll only get a limited release: central london and "key cities", whatever that means. So, I'll admit, I'm being pessimistic, and it could well make it to Oxford.

I don't think they're expecting the film to do too well over here; there's been no publicity that I've seen, and they've messed us around with the release date so much...

Ooh Rent! I totally failed to see it on stage, but I can't imagine I could possibly not love it. Will be on the train from Carlisle for most of the 7th though. Will have to wait just a little longer...
