Feb. 16th, 2006 03:00 pmwow, i really wasn't functioning well at the beginning of term, was i? my timetable is a state; double-booked tutorials, no idea when my exams are (help me out here,
stronglight?), forgotten philosophy lectures...
and i'm beginning to think that the couple of days in-bed-with-sore-throat-unable-to-work-or-indeed-move over christmas might have been the first installment of this shiny thing called glandular fever. it sure would explain a lot of things.
(yes, i am now officially diagnosed. it's simpler, in a way; it's a label i can wave at people to explain things away, like how i need 11 hours sleep to feel like a human being, or why the walk up to the department exhausts me some days, or why some days i feel fine and recovered but still mustn't be reckless.)

Date: 2006-02-16 04:23 pm (UTC)I'm glad for your official diagnosis, in a way, because without it you'd still have been feeling awful and wouldn't have anything to wave at your tutors.
WHich you MUST DO. really, you must let anyone and everyone you can know what's going on - a good person to email might be the senior tutor, Jane Garnett (@wadh...) who's really lovely, who you can talk to about anything academic - she was the only one who actually helped when I was sorting things out last week, and I'm sure she'll know what to do. if nothing else, she'll take you to her study and give you chocolate buttons...
You know I'm here for you, whatever you need doing, all you need to do is ask.
