This is not, perhaps, a level of materialism - or of heteronormativity - that you've come to expect from

However, perhaps you will understand my squee - about both unexpected elements of this statement - when you see how he chose to calibrate the colour and aspect ratio on his new projector:

(For the 95% of you who don't get the joke; it is written into the Oxford Doctor Who Society constitution that all committee meetings must end with a close-up on Colin Baker's face. He played the 6th Doctor and episode directors did seem to have a particular fondness for ending episodes in a similar fashion. Colin Baker's Face has become something of a hysterical in-joke amongst six or seven of the loveliest people in Oxford; I'm sorry to waste everyone else's time with this post but you must understand the joy!)
