Books & TV
Jul. 26th, 2011 10:24 amI've not been around here much. In part, I guess, it's because Twitter is easier for five-minute work-breaks, and I've finally worked out how to use it (I'm radfemburlesque).
But why haven't I come here to share My Thoughts On Torchwood (was there really deleted gay? between which characters? Oh, that antidote was so delightfully 70s-Who silly!)? Or I could have posted here to tell all you men-in-makeup fanciers about the wonder that is Worried about the Boy (cast includes Mark Gatiss as Malcolm McLaren, Marc Warren as Steve Strange, and Freddie Fox (the rent boy from The Shadow Line) as Marilyn). I could have asked whether any other Lewis fans feel awkward in retrospect for not noticing the fail-tropes propagated in Life Born of Fire.
But I haven't. Mostly I've sat quietly and read Dorothy L Sayers. (Finally - finally - I'm reading the Wimsey books. So good.) Now is the time, readers with a favourite book series, to recommend them to me!

Date: 2011-07-26 04:13 pm (UTC)Favourite book series! I love most-but-not-all of Christopher Brookmyre's books -- have you read any? If not, I'd recommend starting with the Angelique de Xavier series.
Ooh, have you read Ali Smith's Girl Meets Boy? One of my favourite books.
Francis Manna's Administration series is near future dystopia + kink + antiheroes + politics + AWESOMENESS.
