Dec. 29th, 2004 02:07 pmmmm, illness. who needs a better excuse to play scrabble?
it was nearing the end of the game, the board was filled, my mum was winning... she challenged my use of the word 'id', so i looked it up in our dictionary. it was, indeed, a word. and what was the abbreviation used to denote its sphere of application?
psychoanal.
i kid you not, the new collins concise dictionary uses the term psychoanal in an entirely unironic fashion to denote freudian concepts. my mum and i giggled for about 3 minutes straight - just try it, it's no easy feat.
