a manic car chase through rain-drenched oxfordshire lanes. if only i'd been in the car to see it, instead of on the bus it was chasing, heading in the wrong direction! but then there was abba, and joy. and i still made it back to college in time to see pirates of penzance, which has converted me and made me into a gilbert & sullivan fan. now i'm just waiting for the g&s society to put on patience...

this morning, i got an email that made me jump up and down ecstatically.

i have been recalled.

for the second round of auditions for Earnest.

there are 9 female e-mail addresses, for 4 female roles.

i have a half-chance of making it into this production!

and this weekend is queer bop and corsetry and joy.

so, i may have handed in my shoddiest work ever... but this week, there are things that are Just More Important.

like Wilde and Corsetry!

YO. I sent you a letter two days ago. When you get it, DO NOT THINK I AM WEIRD AND SUICIDAL. I am fine. Twas a weird evening. Give casting directors head. Do anything. But get part. OR DIE. Also, I am very very going to the LGBT party-on-a-boat here. I miss gaiety.

hehehe - the last letter i wrote you was written on PMT-day. so in the end, i doctored it for a semi-depressed lj post and thought it best not to send it.

but, after the chaos of this week is passed, i shall write to you properly - and maybe i'll enclose the depressed letter for you to laugh at, hmm?

ps - you're at home for christmas, right? so we can have frolicks, and if kate comes to stay, show her popstarz and your dress sense (which she has heard much of, and is quite prepared to love) and everything which makes London Happy and Gay.

Was Pirates worth seeing, then? And, if it was, are there still performances/tix? (I like the show, but G&S can be scary if not spot on, y'know?)

well, i enjoyed it immensely. but that was almost entirely to do with my sense of camp... conclude from that what you will.
