Aug. 3rd, 2004 06:16 pmthere's a pride march in finsbury park... i'm pissed because i have to do a concert, and miss it.
there's a pride in manchester... i hear about it on the news, but obviously it's a long way away.
there's a pride in soho, and i don't even realise it's happening. i stumble into a nirvana of rainbow flags and hand-in-hand couples and stalls and special offers quite by accident on a hot sunday morning. and then i run into
gatty (with
moodylemming) just as randomly! it was simply divine. soho should be like that all the time. especially the 7-ft drag queens and the stall with the strap-ons, in the middle of the street!
also, i got my copy of strange fruit today. glee!! i simply cannot wait.
who here likes the band jet?
i was playing their song, 'look what you've done', the other day, and came to a disturbing conclusion - they are just a rip-off band.
i was willing to forgive the fact that 'are you gonna be my girl' rips its riff directly from the iggy pop song, 'lust for life.' it's a damn good riff. but the chords for the verse of 'look what you've done' are:
C G Am Am/G F
which is identical to that of 'seven' by david bowie.
and the second line of the chorus?
C C/B Am Am/G F
a direct rip of 'changes' by... david bowie!
shocking.
surely it must be the weekend?
no, only tuesday?
gods.
