i swear, ever single piece of holmes i have read today has been just like this. yes, i've been using my free time to go on a sherlock holmes binge - there are none geekier than me. but i can't believe how transparent it all is. i used to ship holmes/watson before i even knew what shipping was... like sam & frodo, their love is just integral to the text. but reading it now, with a much greater grasp of wildean/victorian london, i realise what is meant by holmes always paying the street arabs to run errands for him, what is meant by the fact that in The Man with the Twisted Lip holmes and watson appear to share a room: 'So he sat as I dropped off to sleep, and so he sat when a sudden ejaculation caused me to wake up'

in other news, i spent a crazy 10 minutes dancing like a drug-crazed flapper to 'sing, sing, sing'. if i do miss anything about forest, it will be the big band.

Si, I know exactly what you mean. I have the entire Holmes stories in one book [which I may tackle over the summer] but ye. Holmes obsession = fun!! *ahem* But ye, I knew there must be something there *AHEM* Eheh?? *giggles* Oh, and drug abusage. Mwahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa.
