Jun. 14th, 2004 02:04 pmI just came in from my revision to share what I just heard on the radio:
Kilroy is now one of my M.E.P.s.
For people who don't get this, it means that a racist, xenophobic, ex-trashy-chat-show-host is one of the people representing Britain in Europe.
1/5 British votes cast were for the UK Independence Party - the twisted lovechild of the Tories (right wing & dull) and the BNP (racist and probably homophobic as well).
*holds on to own, solitary Green Party vote*
so this is democracy.

Date: 2004-06-14 11:03 pm (UTC)sometimes i think they should only give the vote to people with IQs of 100+. or even 120+. but then i think, i don't know how well america would react to the fact that their president would no longer be able to vote.
and here in the UK? nobody votes anyway, so i figure they'd extend the franchise to household pets if they thought it would bring the percentage up.
