just gotta love alexandro cuaron (sp?!) or however you spell it. with his wizard choirs and his understanding of the darkness of potterverse.

i played drums loads today. forgot how much i can really love it sometimes. just forgetting everything but the beat. it's better than merely listening to music.

still not looking forward to the singers prom. i'm just gonna go up there, perform to the best of my ability, and then forget the song ever existed. i would really like to sing something other than a comedy song, for once in my life. but james obviously sees me like that. oh, i'd give anything to have mama morton back! but of course i've done her to death. in all her dominatrixy, predatory-lesbianly glory.

still. i get to wear teh ballgown.

i spent five hours last night, reading the handmaid's tale. and dude. wow. huge recs to everyone - it's up there with 1984 for me.

ah, the handmaid's tale is one of atwood's best. one of my favorite novels! it's hard to put down, isn't it?

yes! i started, and finished it, without a break, wednesday night. it's been a very long time since i've done that with a book.

scary thing is, it was written before i was even born, and yet they still use 'islamic terrorism' as the reason for suspending the constitution.

well, to be fair, i don't know when in 1985 it was published... it could have been as little as two weeks before i was born (if they publish books on New Years Eve, lol).
