Had lunch with a friend today, who pointed out that there are less than four weeks to go until season 6a. (Question: did Moffat decide on his season-splitting innovation entirely so that he, too, could have a 'Season 6b'?)

So I caved in and watched the trailers.

..No, there are no spoilers here, because I have nothing of content to say in response; however the excellent geeks over at Unlimited Rice Pudding have noticed something very exciting about the super-short teaser-trailer for the first episode..

The next trailer was expected tonight, but it's now been put back until tomorrow. There is a sixty-second version, a forty-second version, and a further twenty-second version specially designed for CBBC because the longer ones are too frightening for children, so we are told.

...but it is a comment on how current the promotional strategy is that there were two versions of the teaser trailer to be shown in different parts of the country at the same time, very conscious of the arguments that might break out on the internet. Press launch for the new series is on Monday, apparently.
