dr mckenzie read out my poem in alice & karishma's english class today. apparently she really liked the gratuitous references, and thought it should be read out in assembly or some such!

this makes me happy, actually. i dunno - there's so much great stuff in that magazine, you know, it makes me feel good that i was recognised or something.

james was treating me badly today, yelling at me in rehearsals. i guess i got kinda pissed off becuase he knows i can't hold a line all on my own unless i know it insanely well, he knows i'm really just a mezzo who likes singing harmonies and sometimes the alto line goes too low for me. i don't think he had any right to get so bitch-queeny with me. but i really was on the verge of walking out at one point, because if he really doesn't need me then why should i work my arse off for some random opera as well as house drama, 4 a-levels, etc?

so, a day of big highs & lows i guess. positive feedback on "decadence decayed", negative feedback on my contribution to dido & aeneas.

emma loo loo, you are a fantastic singer who is very capable of holding a line by herself (don't argue with me damnit i have heard u hold ALL the lines by yourself in house music ensemble practises :P) but James obviously shouldn't have expected you to do it when you didn't know it...he was just stressed cos peeps didn't turn up I think and prickishly felt you were an easy target. You know you have to be in the opera because you are fabulous.
I am indebted for you forever for house drama, it's so wonderful knowing there's one member of the cast I can always count on to just be great. You have to be in House drama because you are fabulous.
Last of all, your poem...well, do you really have to be so damn good and make those of us who are going off to do English at Uni look so damn crap :P I guess you can guess what the answer to this will be...You show us up because you are fabulous.

writing one poem i'm proud of in my whole life hardly sets me up against someone who is interested in all different kinds of literature, writes incisive & interesting essays about them, etc. the only text i'm enjoying this year is wilde.

(also, i knew the house music inside out & upside down by the end. so that was different.)

and who are you to tell me i'm fabulous, miss cambridge-english-choral-scholarship girl? i think that proves you're per-itty fabulous yourself!

let's face it, we all just infinitely rule.

It is. Gordon Brown is totally at the end of his long wait for the premiership. I think I may have quoted that from the Guardianista. However, nonetheless, notwithstanding.
