sebastienne(I have an implausibly long to-do list, including replying to lots of your messages, but part of functioning well is knowing when to take breaks, so, have a meme!)
2011: I live in a small, cluttered flat withcrouchinglynx. It doesn't have central heating, but I have a lot of jumpers. Between us we have five computers (one has only 72MB of memory, and acts as a CD player), and a prodigious collection of Doctor Who DVDs. It is comfortable. I spend a ridiculous amount of spare time on my feminist burlesque collective, creating the kind of world that I want to live in.
2001: I am 15 years old. I live with my parents and my younger sister in a suburban semi in the London/Essex borderlands. I used to believe that the Rocky Horror Picture Show held the key to everything - then I felt the same about Velvet Goldmine - but now I've just discovered Hedwig and the Angry Inch and THIS IS IT. I know for certain that everyone is pansexual, and that anyone who claims otherwise is repressing their true nature. I am obnoxious, and clueless, and act like I know so much more than I do - in other words, I'm a teenager.
1991: I am 5 years old. I live with my parents and my younger sister in a Victorian terrace in East London. I have just started at the local primary school, and have gone from saying "I can't read, I don't go to school!" (to force my parents to read me stories), to reading the books from the 10-year-olds' classroom. I hate it when I have to read for class because the books for 5-year-olds are so BORING - I just want to read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader again. I am obnoxious, and bored, and constantly amazed by how stupid everyone around me is. It's a lot like being 25, come to think of it, only by now I really should know better.
