am worried by tendency to refer to him in the present tense - 'The idea of a work of Art having an ‘underlying thesis’ is anathema to him.' rather than 'would have been anathema'.
ought to remember that he has been dead for 103 years now. i am not his best friend and confidant, much as i often feel i am so.
but there is nothing i love more than oscar wilde. i should remember this above all the petty infatuations of day-to-day life. or at least, try to. which is a very different matter.
