The Wand Song (Red Scharlach)
(to the tune of "The P***s Song"
from Monty Python's Meaning of Life)
Isn't it awfully nice to be a wizard
Isn't it frightfully good to wave a wand
It's superb to swish a baton
It's divine to shake a stick
Do the tiniest bit of magic
Or the world's biggest trick
So if you want to try transfiguration
Or if dark forces tempt you in the night
Use holly, yew or willow wood
It doesn't matter if
It's all long and thin and bendy
Or inflexible and stiff
Just don't snap it, bend it, break it,
Drop or throw it off a cliff
Cos it won't grow back
(thankyouverymuch)
final dress rehearsal tonight; the dance went v. well but the kids just won't sing! it was over in a flash, i don't know where it went at all - it's always seemed so long in rehearsals. i'm worried about the ensemble - still going ridiculously flat on the 'neon god' verse. but alex's solo is sounding so good, i can't believe i was ever considering someone else doing it!
also, i now own a purple ballgown. with a pretty, lacy, purple jacket which has an almost gothy overtone to it. now i just need shoes, bag, jewellry . . . on the one hand i feel so terrible spending my parents' money like this, but on the other i know this will do for the leavers' ball, and uni after that . . .

Well, I have no definite proof in my mind that we do, but I can't see Mr. Elliot passing up an oppurtunity to flaunt our orchestras.
Although I doubt there is tinsel, as it is probably not considered formal enough.
