Argh. Something similar happened to me last week. They asked me in for an informal chat, invited me to some seminars, seemed like they really liked me, called me and asked me to apply for the job... then went quiet on me for a fortnight and then emailed me to inform me that they'd given the job to someone else who had a qualification I didn't that they hadn't asked for. Grr, sulk, mutter. It was a horrible fortnight. Deepest sympathy.
