A plot summary:
Some court intrigue occurs in spurious Spanish accents.
The children come to Narnia. Susan kills two guards with no warning and with no attempt to bargain. They attack a castle full of human beings, killing a load of them and losing most of their own people as well. No attempt is made before this to solve things peacefully or without bloodshed.
No-one gets any character development.
Lots more people die in many more extended battle scenes.
Aslan appears! Tells small child that all the death is her fault for not believing in him enough.
Susan - the one who won't be allowed back into Narnia at the last trumpet because of an interest in boys and nylons - snogs Caspian, with the obvious approval of the film-makers.
What?
Was the book really this bad? My childhood is bleeding... Why did I not question Aslan more?! A god like that is not worthy of my worship, of anyone's worship. Forget anything I have ever flippantly said about Aslan being better than Jesus. Jesus would never have stood by when he could have intervened, ever.
