Lovely - what a fantastic positive message.

by which I mean of course the implied message that both men and women have problems which mirror each other and these problems fundamentally stem from the same causes.

I found this ages ago after some clever sort posted a couple of posters from the site on the subway on my way to work. Is super awesome.

Huzzah! This makes me happy. I enjoy it when there's room for both genders in looking for equality.

I have to applaud the sentiment behind this, but I can't quite approve enough to repost. I don't like how cutesy it is - the use of "girls" and "boys", the "E-Z-Bake oven", the pinkness. And having a cartoony, split-down-the-middle little androgyne doesn't stop the phrasing being offensively gender-binary. Still, I guess I'd rather see media over-simplifying the principle that everyone is a victim of the patriarchy, than reinforcing the patriarchy. There's a limit to how useful stuff this simplistic can be, though.

Then it is up to idividuals to use their judgement to keep them from over use of simplistic materials. The site is aimed principly at teens and youngsters- can you suggest better material for that audience?

people on my flist who are even marginally versed in gender theory will hopefully see it as you have; but i think my flist has enough men-who-misunderstand-feminism, as well as people to whom i have failed to explain why i think "you don't have to be female to be fucked over by the patriarchy", to make this worth posting here.

It's a poster for schools. Young kids. Not meant to be a particularly sophisticated commentary.
