1. People at Andrew & Sophie's party last night might be surprised to note that i did not drink or smoke anything. The most hardcore thing to pass my lips was a cinnamon danish.

2. The last sentence above might be a lie, in a certain manner of speaking. And ashley gains rock-star points for rolling cigarettes one-handed and there's a lovely symmetry about this video.

3. OULES this term will be of absolute joy. Although I canm't help thinking that the Holmes and Watson and Wilde thing has been done before, somewhere...

4. I plan to re-read all the Harry Potter books between the end of f*nals and the release of the 7th book. Who's with me?

5. Next year is going to be a good year. Life is too important to be taken seriously.

Woe that I missed the upstairs fun, but have made a Jessie of pure prettiness which makes up for it :)

Can we have 8th week reading aloud of Harry Potter to each other on punts? Let's read the entire series on punts in a week with strawberries!

*faints from excitement*

I can't remember whether or not I've read the second Harry Potter book. It seems familiar, but I can't recall having done so. Do you think I'll have time to catch up?

How do you mean "catch up"? If you mean "read all the books before book 7 comes out", then I think that plans are being made right now to do that, regardless of whether they've been read before. I favour Helen's idea, above, of reading them aloud to one another on punts.

I like this.

However, I wonder if even the godlike Stephen Fry would be capable of reading all six books aloud in a week. Say we read for twelve hours a day, for seven days - that's only fourteen hours per book. The Half-Blood Prince audiobook is 17 CDs long.. Goblet of Fire was 18.. but then, the earlier books are smaller..

Do you think we really could? I am now thinking we just could, if we actually read for about twelve hours a day. But I'm not sure people will seriously want to do that, nor do I think they'll let us have a punt for a solid week. But I'm enough of a sad geek to actually want to try.

we can try. hilda's has free punts. you can only have them out for 2 hours at a time, but if we take the key back and then out again every 2 hours it would be ok. but surely we don't have to restrict ourselves to just a week, we've got until july 21st! reading on punts gets my vote.

*grin* - oh, and *melt slightly* :D

If you're still OK with me stealing your "study in scarlet" line, I think I'll do so - it's too good *not* to use :)
