only in oxford is it quite so easy to identify the source of drunken revelry in the street, when, at 2am, a dozen or so males wander under your window singing, in perfect close-harmony, the 80s classic "take on me".

general drunken revelry that keeps one up at night is rubbish. it can be quite entertaining if one is awake anyway, in a people-watchy sort of a way, and I was certainly loving the free concert.. but if anyone is of a mind to make a complaint (a dozen barbershop singers can make an impressive amount of noise, i could hear them all the way down broad street), it's going to be fairly easy to target Out of the Blue...

What I meant to say was, is, here, we have the firemen running round the Cite U park at all hours of the day. They're lethal, they'd mow you down if we didn't all jump into the trees.

They can;t help it. They just picked the new memebers and were having their drunken fairwell to the ex members. Several of them later turned up in my Kitchen until Chloé came and yelled at them

I just found myself saying "out of the blue" with the same weirdly pitched inflection that has become habit for saying "into the woods." It worked quite well.

Strangely enough, last night there were a group of lads singing outside here too.. expect they were singing Without You, not one of them knew the words properly, and they were badly out of tune!
But definitely strange, because it has never happened before!

it is then particularly unfortunate that I discovered their presence partly through the noise, but partly by wandering into the kitchen, bleary eyed, in less than glamourous pjs and with bed hair.

Sounds beautiful! Reminds me of the time in my first year when a drunken operatic baritone wandered down the street outside my window singing a glorious aria, wonderfully in tune considering how drunk he seemed to be.

Ah but now you have an ice-breaker to start conversations with them!
If you see one of them again you can be all like:
"Hey weren't you there when?"
and they can be all like "Yeah that was a crazy night!"
and you can be all like "it was sooooo embarrassing."
and then they'll be all like: "Ha ha! It was cool honestly."
and then you'll be like "Well I was only popping out to get something to eat"
And they'll be like "Oh, I just found this awesome place."

And then you'll talk and it'll get a bit late and you can let them walk you home where upon you push them inside and tie them to a bed for several hours.

See it all works out.
