This has been all over Twitter, but I've not seen it on DW/LJ, so. Under cover of all the Dorries!fail, the NHS is being privatised by the back door. The third reading in the Commons passed with nothing more than a few TUC members holding a candle-free candlelit vigil, so now the House of Lords is our only hope.

I've been amazed at the lack of coverage for the health bill - I read about it on one of the left wing blogs, but then thought maybe it had been mistaken, because there was nothing on the BBC or Guardian website. And only four Liberal Democrats had the guts/sense to rebel!

Let's hope the famed independence of the Lords will save us: it looks like we might have to rely on Lord Owen.
