Something of a mug...

I'm taking advantage of my tea-break to see if I can get back into using my journal the way I used to. This will hopefully be a lightweight update on the state of the me, with no great life-change wrangling at all!

sir_rosealot at some PHoL / Pridehouse party past, although my memory is notoriously flaky (that's why I should keep this journal better updated!). It's always been my "work" mug, ever since my first full-time job. It's got an Oscar Wilde quotation on it ("Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast"), a reproduction of his signature, and a few Art Nouveau lines in neat black-and-white. It's aesthetically pleasing, it holds a pint of tea, and it grounds me with a former self. It reminds me of teenage-Sebastienne, the one with Velvet Goldmine on repeat and a biography of Oscar in her lap. It reminds me of that Christmas I spent living in PHoL (the Pansexual House of Love was my student flat, 2005/6. I lived with Laurie Penny and the lovely sebastiality) and working in Past Times - we were selling the mug at the time, which was also the time that I started my first poly triad, had my first hypomanic episode, and resolved that Living Forever In Oxford must be the life ambition to trump all others.
Aaaand that's the end of my tea-break. It was a good tea-break.
