Edinburgh is over. I'm back at work. The tips of the trees on Frideswide Square are turning russet.
And I'm not feeling burnt out or angry or sad. I'm feeling a bit tired, slightly smug, and exceptionally content.
This is a significant improvement on last year.
Tonight we perform at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. We're even in the picture on their website!
We're being invited to events across the country, from Sheffield to Warwick to Brighton. People tweet at us saying things like "I'm so happy to hear people talking about this stuff outside the internet!"
We sold 70 zines, which means that there are 70 people walking around with 20 pages of Lashings' political analysis in their pockets.
Maybe, just maybe, this is worth doing. It is making a difference.
They bought me a beautiful hat for the cast party and said that this was all my fault. I don't think I've ever been so proud in my life; not of myself, but of everyone who went into making Edinburgh so collaborative and constructive that we were all still friendly enough to be buying presents at the end of it!
And now Autumn is here. Bring it on, September; I'm ready for you.
