I <3 my bike!

To walk to work and get in on time, I need to leave at 0820 at the very latest. To get the bus, I really need to leave at 0828, although I can get away with leaving at 0832. These figures may seem oddly precise, and oddly close-together, but believe me, when I'm trying to drag myself out of the house in the morning, every minute counts!
This morning? I left at 0838 and still made it in early, despite getting off and pushing at tricky junctions and being stuck behind a temporary traffic light for what felt like five minutes. I'm bruised and stiff from spending all of Wednesday afternoon cycling, some of it with my back wheel catching on the frame (which feels like cycling through treacle and I really don't recommend it - keep a
crouchinglynx with a toolkit on hand at all times), having not previously cycled for ten years. Hi, muscles I'd forgotten I had! Sorry to have neglected you for so long, and then to mistreat you so cruelly - I'm sure we'll be back on good terms in no time!
