Feb. 7th, 2004 02:36 pmyeah, house drama happened.
we won. alex got 'best director' and i'm sharing 'best actor' with becky.
yes - our three unison soloists from house music.
anybody else think billy was right, talking about a 'match made in heaven' in his review?
although i said at the time it was only for fun, i did think we were in with a chance for house music. with house drama, i was certain that franklin or eliot would win - and that's not false modesty, it's fact. and when he said my name for 'best actor', i sat there for a moment, trying to remember which play the other emma lewis had been in (yes, there is another me in the second year - but she wasn't in house drama) before i realised he was talking about me. i mean, what did i do, speak camply & swagger? it's not exactly the elephant man, is it?
[yes, spent part of last night running around essex wearing a false moustache, laughing back at the essexboys & girls on bus stops.]
and as for narayani - writing & directing at the national? could jono have given her a more tailor-made response than that? i was so happy for her i was almost crying. cuz i realised, that totally was her vision on stage. with fairy lights & garlands of east ham fake flowers. with etheral girls floating around in white, with nursery rhymes and an exquisitely egotistical hamlet and lighting... she deserved the 'best lighting' and 'best set design' awards. but really, they ought to have combined them, and called it 'best creative vision'.
(i tried all sexualities until i got the best answer from the meme. obviously the internet wants me to be gay.)
