Watching Helen Raynor's Sontaran two-parter at DocSoc tonight, I felt incredibly sad. Everything that Donna does - demanding salutes, self-identifying as SuperTemp, telling Wilf she'll see the stars for him, saving the fucking day - becomes meaningless in the face of her ending (and, yes, this is also the two-parter where we see Martha's engagement ring. Where she's engaged to her nice paediatrician with whom she has foreshadowing, as opposed to Mickey, a pairing RTD apparently favoured because their surname became Smith-Jones. Vom).

After that, I needed to re-read this fic. And I thought I'd post it here in case you do, too. It's perfect Donna, it's the right ending, it's everything that RTD didn't give me.
