I read a very good book about this recently. Basically the point was if you don't mind, if it's not a problem, don't fix it. If it is a problem, fix it using plenty of care etc. It went a bit long winded on care and treatment, I didn't really understand it all and got a bit bored. The first bit where he has mocking the classification scheme was good. Hell, homosexuality was classified as a mental illness for quite a while. But now, if people are happy and don't mind being gay (!), we don't try to 'fix' it.
